One thing I always wanted to do when I was younger was make skate videos. I once spent a couple of weeks attempting to learn to skate; suffice to say I think I'm better off wielding the camera.

My brother is a keen BMX rider so while I was last at home I went out with him one chilly Sunday morning for a brief session at a local park.

It was as much a learning opportunity as anything else, hence the sometimes dubious choice of shots and so on. I was also getting used to moving while shooting. Since then I have built a DIY steadycam, but I was relying on in-camera stabilisation when this was shot.

It was also a chance to push my own boundaries as far as editing, which has hopefully paid off.
